I tell everyone who asks about prices in this forum that the only response that has any meaning at all is the one from the person willing to do the job. If I tell you $375 and the only local mechanic who will work on your car wants $600, what was accomplished?
I would highly recommend a 2003-2005 used subaru forester as a good buy as they were very popular back then because of their style and qualities along with fair price.
According to the local Subaru dealership, it should be replaced at 105,000 miles (U.S.). Estimated price for parts and labor as of 2007 is $625.00 USD.
last one we had done was £220 that was last year on a 2000 model 2.5i
timing belt Whoever said timing belt doesn't understand constant velocity joints. If it is popping and jumping while turning, then you have a bad CV joint on one of the front axles. You can replace the joint for about the same price as replacing the entire axle, (2 joints). Do it yourself for under $150 or take to a shop for about $450.
A rubber timing belt may be replaced due to age or due to condition. If a belt breaks while driving, it will result in instant stopping of the motor, frequently with damage to the valves/pistons. Replacing an old or worn belt in a timely manner is MUCH cheaper than the results of NOT replacing one. Check the price of a belt, and the price of a wrecker and engine rebuild.
The average price is of a used Subaru Liberty is about 34,990 dollars. One could find this on the Subaru webstie or see someone who is selling a Liberty.
"I don't know much about Subaru but I have researched and found that the Subaru Impreza is the cheapest Subaru model that Subaru offers. The starting price for the Impreza is 17,495."
The cost takes into account the price for a new or used engine and the service charges. Used engine can be $1,250. Installing the engine can range between $262 - $574.
most cases the #2 cyl misfire is timing belt related.. but check plugs first and wires if the timing belt is off a tooth or two on bank 2 it always pops that code on obdII subaru's hope that helps can't tell you on the price it's different with all shops just don't go to dealerships ,, subaru's always cost 1200 - up..lol
The lower price does not include seats or whitewall tires.
Many dealerships would sell used Subaru Libertys for a cheap price. It really depends on how much you are willing to spend. The first place to look, naturally, would be at a Subaru dealer.
Call a parts store and get a price the two timing belts. About 20 bucks in my area. Installed about $150.-300 depending on repair facility and additional parts required in procedure,(seals, water pump, drive belts,etc..)
