After the French and Indian War the Natives saw the French defeat as a loss also for the Natives. Therfore, the Ottawa leader Pontiac decided to rebel and capture 8 British forts. With these conflicts between the natives and them Parliment did not want future conflict with the natives. This, in turn, angered settlers and cause them to rebel, therefore being one of the reasons for the American Revolution. After the U.S. gained its independence, it was considered in the way of manifest destiny.
