RAMP stands for Recruit Attitude Motivational Program. It's where company commanders can (& do) send recruits who are perceived to be lacking in one or more of the Coast Guard's core values: Honor, Respect, & Devotion to Duty.
RAMP involves insane amounts of Incentive Training (also known as PT) and lots of yelling. Push-ups, running, flutter kicks, sit ups, crunches, yelling, and plenty of other creative sweat-inducing exercises are used to motivate the recruit to do better.
They guard the coast.
