define moment of inertia§ I is the moment of inertia of the mass about the center of rotation. The moment of inertia is the measure of resistance to torque applied on a spinning object (i.e. the higher the moment of inertia, the slower it will spin after being applied a given force).
We use y_y axes
The relation between bending moment and the second moment of area of the cross-section and the stress at a distance y from the neutral axis is stress=bending moment * y / moment of inertia of the beam cross-section
The centroid is the geometric centre of an object. Moment of inertia is a objects resistance to rotation and has the units kg.m^2
in torsional vibrations moment of inertia is a very important determining factor. it is a quantitative measure of the resistance of an object to torsion. it is synonymous to mass in displacement systems. the greater the moment of inertia the lesser the degree of torsional vibrations and vice versa. moment of inertia relates torsional vibrations to the geometry of the part considered irrespective of its composing material and its strength.
The second moment of a force is called as moment of inertia.
The disk because it has a lower moment of inertia for a given mass.
How do to determine the moment of inertia of a cub
Moment of Inertia of a disk (I) = 1/2MR2 Moment of Inertia of a disk (I) = 1/4MR2
Dimensional formula of moment of inertia = [ML2T0 ]
mass moment of inertia is the property of the body to resist rotation about the given axis where as the area moment of inertia is the resistance to bending about the given axis
Moment of inertia has unit kg m2
Don't know what the textbooks might tell you but I think this list of moments of inertia is rather comprehensive: rectangle circle cylinder hollow cylinder i beam triangle rod square disk area mass sphere hoop rotational t section ring shaft semi circle But these are moments of inertia. Not clear what you mean by moment of "force." Of course there is a force associated with moments of inertia. And that's the force F that is turning the object that has the inertia. In general that force is F = Ia where I is the moment of inertia and a is angular acceleration of the object.

moment of inertia is basically an objects resistance to its state of motion.
The moment of inertia tells us how easy or how difficult it is to make something rotate.
The moment of inertia formula isIxx= bh3 / 12B= base H= height and Ixx = moment of inertia of a rectagular section about x-x axis.
