Help us out here 4.9 liter what?
In a 2003 Ford Expedition the ( 5.4 liter V8 ) has a spark plug firing order : 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils The engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of Ford Expedition
I'm not a mechanic / technician , but that is the order that the spark plugs fire on an engine In your case , the 4.6 liter V8 engine in a 2002 Ford Expedition firing order is : ( 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 ) The engine cylinder / spark plug locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of Ford Expedition V8 engine You also have the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system that has ( 8 ) individual coils ( one coil for each spark plug / engine cylinder ) so to me the firing order doesn't seem to be as critical as when an older vehicle has a distributor and spark plug wires
The firing order should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
The firing order should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
The firing order for the 5.0 liter engine is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. The distributor rotates clockwise. The firing order is the same for the 5.7 liter engine.
