EPA says 34 City and 40 Highway (Standard) and 34 City and 39 Highway (Automatic). Real world, for myself, is coming up 39 City and 48 Highway. Note: Tires inflated to 44psi and I coast to a stop in gear (5th or 4th works) in order to shut off the fuel injectors. Automatics have this same feature.

The Toyota Yaris is priced lower than the other Toyota cars. The L Hatchbach is about $1700 lower than the Corolla L Sedan. The fuel economy is also better than the Corolla. The hybrid Prius rates higher for fuel economy, as it gets 21 more MPG in the city and 12 more MPG on the highway.
Personally I average 42 mpg on a mixture of city/highway. My yaris is a 2007 automatic Liftback.
