I think you mean a Sportmaster 512, Remington didn't make a Model 52. In MINT, like new condition around $300.-
A Remington Mod 8 in 95% conditiion is about $500.00
your Remington model 512 was made from 1940-1962,with a total production of 395,000 guns.
100-1000 USD depending on specifics
Check the date code stamps on the barrel. Details on the Remington Society of America on the Manufactured Date link.
There should be markings on the left side of the barrel by the proofmark like K or an E and Remington has a year chart on their website
Go to www.e-gunparts.com/model.asp?idDept=204 very good diagram
1936-1940 You could check the date code stamped on the barrel - see related links for information on the Remington Society of America.
obsolete manuels can be ordered on the Remington web site, and some current models are available for free on the web site to print.
I just bought a Remmington 512 Sportmaster in excellent condition from a local dealer for $150.00 they are going up in value due to being a good starter rifle for beginners at clubs. They are fool proof and getting harder to come by. Darn those Squirrel Hunters! If you buy one for less, its a good purchase. Many have been destroyed in gun buybacks as cities try to eliminate guns. I seen them cut up. Sad.
$350-475. depending on condition. Great gun, but plain looking.
