Well, obviously one great disadvantage is that someone just might not know what they're talking about and answer a question incorrectly. Another disadvantage (Which in most cases) is that people who are getting these answers need to learn it themselves through studying and schoolwork instead of someone just handing it to them.

I'm sure you can see the advantages: Fast response time, correct answers and a helpful community. Those things put together ensure a great learning environment and one of the most helpful websites on the internet.
