What are Advantage pre cast concrete slab than insitu concrete?
reinforced concrete prise
they give a goodstrength for concrete
allows the use of higher slump of concrete which results in stringer concrete
disadvantage: - require more time to construct compare to precast concrete slab -more on-site labor required - require formwork advantage: -most commonly use -do not require storage for material (e.g. precast concrete slab need place to store)
I think you are talking about embedding steel rods (rebars) in concrete, right? This would make the concrete much stronger. It is called reinforced concrete, and you can make all sorts of structures with it, something that you can't do with ordinary concrete. Though, I am not even sure anyone is using non-reinforced concrete nowadays.
One advantage of using asphalt as the wearing course of a road is its flexibility, which allows it to better withstand temperature fluctuations and heavy loads without cracking. In contrast, one advantage of using concrete is its durability and longevity, as it can last longer than asphalt under similar conditions and typically requires less maintenance over time.
One advantage of having a concrete floor would be for example the durability, Another benefit is for sure the fact that concrete is easy to maintain and that it is environmental-friendly. Besides that there a lot of different options regarding the possible design.
Quality control would be high on the list, for concrete may be made with minimum water under factory conditions. Concrete pipes for example are made from aggregate that appears only slightly damp! - But with steam curing, a quality product results. Accurate, repeatable products are another advantage. And factory manufacture produces the quality product at good speed. Freedom from weather and site conditions would be another.
Close packing and compression of aggregates for maximum rigidity and strength after curing.
An advantage of a concrete tetrapod is that it protects coastlines from waves. A disadvantage is that when they are used, it is hard to find a beach to go to where you can see the coast.
One advantage of compacting concrete with a steel rod is that it effectively removes air bubbles, leading to a denser and stronger final product. This method allows for better control over the placement and helps ensure uniformity in the mix. However, a disadvantage is that it can be labor-intensive and time-consuming, and improper technique may cause segregation of the aggregates, potentially compromising the integrity of the concrete. Additionally, it may not be suitable for larger pours where mechanized methods would be more efficient.
