diaphragam clutch is small in size as compare to spring clutch

and it transmits more torque as diaphragm exerts more force as copare to springs......

therefore it is advantageous to use diaphragm clutch intead of spring clutch...

more compact means of storing energy. thus compact design results in smaller clutch housing.........

less affected by centrifugal force..can withstand higher rotational speeds...

diaphragm acts as both clamping spring and release levers..therefore many extra parts like struts, eye bolts, levers etc can be eliminated....

Your 944 1985 4-cylinder clutch has to be pulled halfway up after shifting?

The clutch pedal has an assist spring and return spring. The assist spring tension must be adjusted to create a balance point at which the clutch pedal will over center and return to the fully disengaged position. It is also possible that the system may have air or the push rod attached to the pedal may be out of adjustment.

Do nitro pellet guns kick like the spring pellet guns?

Actually air guns have very little kick. Nitro is about the same as spring. Nitro has the advantage over spring in that it has no "spring wobble" when fired and it can be left "cocked" for a long period of time without damage to the system.Actually air guns have very little kick. How does air brake use pneumatic power?

An air brake uses a diaphragm connected to an operating rod to work the brake. Behind the diaphragm there is a spring which applies the breaking force at all times. To release the break either pressure is applied to the other side of the diaphragm or a vacuum is applied to the spring side. Because the diaphragm has a large surface area just a few p.s.i. can produce a large force. E.g. A 8 inch diameter unit would produce over 700 lbs thrust at 14psi this force is often further amplified by the leverage of the linkage. This arrangement makes the brake fail to the safe "on" state.

How does an electric PTO clutch work on a craftsman riding mower?

The electric PTO Clutch is Electromagnetic. There is a stator which creates a magnetic field when voltage is applied and this causes the free spun pulley to lock into place with the crankshaft of the engine. When voltage is release, spring pressure forces the pulley away from the stator. This is over simplified but that is about it.

Is 'the diaphragm' a voluntary muscle?
