the advantages of 8086 microprocessor over 8085A microprocessor is that

1)it is a 16 bit microprocessor

2)the disadvantages in 8085A microprocessor like low speed,limited number of registers,low memory addressing capability,less powerful instruction set have been overcome in 8086 registers

The 8086/8088 is a 16 bit processor. As such, it can handle 16 bit logic and arithmetic, while the 8085 can only handle 8 bit data. Also, the 8086/8088 has a 20 bit address bus, so it can address 1mb of memory, while the 8085 can only address 64kb of memory. Also, the 8086/8088 has additional instructions that greatly enhance the processing of data, such as indexed addressing and string manipulation.

The original IBM PC was implemented using an 8088 processor. At that time, that was something special.

Intel 8086 is not better than 8085 but rather more preffered to it. This is because Intel 8086 provides an order of magnitude increase in processing.

The advantages of the 8086 microprocessor was the processor was small enough for the individual user. The disadvantage of the processor was the limited uses.
