A model 39 with no prefix letter was made sometime after 1922, but before 1930. The rollstamp address on the barrel, and other features can narrow it down more, but not much closer. Values are based on condition, and you failed to describe the gun's finish or bore condition.

Value of a 1980 Winchester rifle 22 short octagonal barrel?

In "good" condition with standard barrel length (3.25") and with standard Nickel finish - value will range from $125 to $150 US.

The model 39 was made from around 1922-1938. Since you didn't mention a prefix letter, then your's would be from 1922-1928. If I had more info as to markings on the barrel, or whether it has the "bullseye" in the buttstock, I could get closer, but not with just the serial number. As for value, it's not possible to determine the appraised value without seeing the gun and examining the bore. marlinguy@juno.com

There are lots of varations in the model 61, I recommend you go to homesteadguns.com.
