Edinburgh and Glasgow are the largest international airports. However, Glasgow Prestwick (not very near Glasgow) also operates international flights. Aberdeen Airport also operates international flights, and from summer 2009 Inverness Airport plans to operate flights to limited international destinations.

All the cities have their own airport. Glasgow, Edinburgh, Anerdeen. Dundee and Inverness. There are also airports on the Shetland Islands, Orkney Islands and the Western Isles.
