There are many ways through which you can tell the difference. One of them is by rubbing them against your teeth; if the pearl feels smooth then it is most likely fake. Another way is to rub two pearls against each other, if they glide easily then they are fake, real pearls are not very smooth. One more method is to see if a pearl is perfect round shape it is fake, however, please note that some real pearls are perfectly round but are very rare.
A 'quick and dirty' test is to pass the diamond over glass. If it cuts the glass, it's probably a diamond. Some 'fake' diamonds cloud up under cold water; a real diamond remains clear. Finally, a certified gemologist will always be able to tell whether a diamond is a real diamond, or a 'fake' diamond -- using a diamond tester.

Pass the lie dedector test
When you are arrested, you have to take a lie detector test. Since the painting was stolen after you were caught, you are released to help the police. Go to the Clown Store and get the timecard from the museum Security Guard, and take it to the Security Room at the museum. You can get a photo of the thief from the video, and show the photo Downtown.
You climb up on top of the painting and then straight after you do this you will get arrested but then you will be let out after a lie test.
