My 2001 Ford escape has 159,000-ish miles on it...trans lost passing gear about 3 or 4 years ago...finally put it in shop when it started shuttering when down shifting at highway speeds. Turns out i didn't have 1st, 3rd or 4th gears or at least they weren't fellin' too good.
It's costing me $2,2oo...so there ya go! No car pmts. For ten years now..thats not too bad! That works out to $18 a mth. There have been other repair costs as well so that number doesn't reflect them.
I had heard about $3,000 for a re-built.
$2612.34
