It can vary greatly between veterinarians, depending on the area of the cat that needs the X ray, and the cost of possible sedation for the cat. It's best to call your vet and get an estimate.

I live in Maine. For each image I was charged $70 and they took 5 images. They also charged for the sedation that was necessary to keep my 100 pound dog still for the photos. The final charge was over $400. This produced a non-definitive

diagnosis of osteosarcoma

(I brought him in because this is what I thought he had)

. For a definitive answer I was referred to a specialist.
I have three children and each has broken a bone or two. Each x-ray

image for them was either $30 or $35 depending upon which office took the images.
Veterinarian care has become so expensive that it has us reconsidering whether we will continue to have pets. Removal of porcupine quills has cost us as much as $800 per visit. The vet refused

to prescribe a topical anaesthetic so that we could remove the quills ourselves. We had many friends say they always did this themselves. We've removed quills three times now with no pain relief for our pets (which seems horrible, I know) due to this refusal. I think this is not in the best interest of the pet, but rather in the best interest of the vet.

The average cost of an x ray for a dog is about £45. That is how much it cost for my St Bernard to have one, but for smaller breeds the price varies.

Depends on where you live and what area of the body you are getting an x-ray of. For example where I am from, a 3 view chest x-ray is about $120, spinal survey $170, and limbs $100.
