The traditional sunflower (the name of the variety is American Giant) averages about 12 ft tall though it can vary based amount season, available water, how closely they are planted, and other factors. Most are between 10' and 15'. Other varities range in height from 1 foot (the Jerusalem Sunrise Lemon Dwarf variety) to 16' (the Cyclops Hybrid). There are many varieties in the 6' to 8' range.

Do larger sunflower heads produce larger sunflower seeds?

Not necessarily. While a smaller than average head will definitely have smaller seeds, a larger than average head will simply have more seeds of the typical size. There is an upper limit on how large sunflower seeds can be (the limit depends on the breed of sunflower).
