In most states you cannot drop out of high school without your parents consent before you reach a certain age which varies from state to state. Some states also require that you fill out withdrawal forms so that your decision to discontinue your schooling is duly recorded. If you are finding that school is difficult for you either because you are bored or disinterested or because you simply don't like the structure, you might want to look into some alternate methods of getting your education. Home-schooling is an option. Many cities also have more unstructured forms of 'school' where a person is allowed to study at their own pace with very little supervision. Dropping out of school with no plan for continuing your education is not the best idea so just give it a lot of thought before you decide!! This is not a sufficient answer of what my question was, it does not even come close to stating what the average income is for a high school dropout.
you make about $2.00 an hour if that.
Actually the above info is close but not does not seem to be based on supported U.S. Government data.
Average annual earnings for (US Gov study):
high school dropouts = $18,900
high school graduates = $25,900
college graduates = $45,400
professional degrees = $99,300
Not a lot.....that's why you should get your education because if you don't you wont make enough money to survive. That's when people start braking the law to make some extra money and that's how they end up in jail. Not because their bad people but because they cant get a job be cause they didnt get a high school deploma.
Nationally the average is $12,184.00 a year. High School dgrees are at $15.00 an hour average (or $33,000.00 annually) Associates degrees go to $19 to $26 an hour or nearly $50K a year.
Currently dropouts are not doing as well as these averages would suggest. I have high school degrees as a requirement to clean horse stalls. McDonald's requires them. Even the military needs one. Do not drop out. It is over one million dollars over your expected life! What would you do with a million dollars? I will bet throwing it away for a year of fun is not the choice!
That would be very difficult to determine. The unemployment rate of high school drop outs is over 50% and getting worse in the current economy. So if you include all high school drop outs it is probably going to be somewhere around $6,000 a year, well below the poverty level.
between:
100,000-500,000
21600
21,600
depends on what kind of job a high school drop out gets
If the high school dropout gets paid $8 an hour, how many extra hours does the dropout have to work in order to make up this $6,000?
According to the Census Bureau, high school graduates make approximately $10,000 more per year than dropouts or GED holders. That's nearly one million over a lifetime. -Amanda Smith
270,000
270,000
$270,o00
A high school dropout will generally make much less over a lifetime--unless he comes up with the next thing to sliced bread. A GED will improve matters. However, having a BA degree (in anything) will allow you to be promoted in most places.
A High- school graduate would make about $2,942 per year with a good job!
i dont know
Don't be a total douche, concentrate on your studies and make sure you hand all of your homework in on time! Also, make sure that you don't tick off your teachers as this could result in suspension or expulsion.
According to the US Census Bureau, a high school graduate earns approximately $10,000 more per year than a high school dropout, or a GED holder. That's almost one million over the course of a lifetime. -Amanda Mayhew
You will make more than a million dollars more in your lifetime if you have a high school diploma.
