∙ 15y agoOnce a female Platty is old/large enough (around 6-8 weeks) it will be impregnated by any of the males in the tank. The same applies to all livebearers. A female can have several lots of young from the one fertilisation. I have had a Platty bear up to 4 lots of young with no male in the tank. The most young I've seen from 1 lot was from a Sword Tail who dropped 76.
