Who wants to go for average anymore. A lot of kids are obese. So average will be skewed. We should aim for ideal. My 10 year old son is 4'8" and weighs 90lbs. He's got a bit of chubbiness to him but not too bad. I think ideal for this age and height would be about 80-85lbs.
Depends. Weight is not really what is important, body fat percentage is. I'd say around 100-105 lbs for males and 95-100 lbs for females is roughly right. Again, some body fat calipers are a good route here if you think that you may be over or under weight. BMI is not a good measure of ideal weight.
* 70 pound might be an average weight for a boy of that height. * However, weight is related to height and body composition, rather than age. At least 95 lbs or more less than that can danger a boy's health. I'm sorry person whoever posted this, but I have never ever ever ever ever heard of a 10-year-old boy that weighs 95lbs. I'm pretty sure my brother is the heaviest in his class, one of the shortest, and he's a 4'4 10-year-old boy.
