Animals and Human-beings are living-beings. Plants and Minerals are non-living beings.

Basic unit that lives is "jeevan". Jeevan is a constitutionally-complete atom - which expresses consciousness. Each living-being is a combination of a jeevan and a physiochemical-composition (body). Both body and jeevan are realities of nature. Jeevan expresses itself through body in living-beings.

The basic structure of body is cell - which has breathing activity and can replicate its own kind. Each cell has the formula of whole body - and thereby it is continuously engaged in composition and decomposition activities. Body decomposes. But jeevan is immortal and can take next bodily journey.

Human-being in illusion thinks his body to be jeevan. Jeevan's believing body to be self is the root of illusion in humankind.
