how do you change the battery in a 2002 jetta keyless entry pad?
We had this same problem on our 1998 Toyota Sienna; one dealer wanted $400 to replace the computer module inside the dash and another dealer quoted us $200. They also tried to "reset" the module but said it was "bad." However, last month our battery died and it was 6 years old so time to get a new one. After install of new battery, suddenly my automatic locks starting working again at ignition, so I tried my remote keyless entry fob and VOILA--keyless entry now works! I'm guessing the system reset on its own with the loss of power. SO--try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes. This may reset your keyless entry as well. Best wishes! ~K. Gollnick
One reason that a keyless entry remote will not open the doors is a dead battery, either on the vehicle or the key itself. Another reason is that the remote needs to be reprogrammed.
There are many cars with keyless entry, mine is included (a 2002 ford focus). Keyless entry has been used since around the 90s and have been used ever since. There are still cars without keyless entry but they are all older models.
In order to program a VW Gold 2002 keyless entry, you would need the metal key flip, keyless entry remote and the immobilizer chip. Once you program the three components, you would have to program the immobilizer chip separately.?æ
bad sensor module, cost you around $400.
Look up by the parking brake under the dash board. They used to put a sticker there with the master keyless entry code on it.
