I just changed the battery to my 2002 Jaguar X-type and it is just how you change the battery to any other car. Some people like to buy manufacturer product so if you buy a Jaguar battery, take out the old battery and put in the new. If you buy a compatible battery, at an auto store, it works just as well but you have to fill the sides so it can fit and it won't move from side to side since a jaguar battery seems to be wider than the standard types. They sell the foam at the auto store, you just have to put it on the side and cover the battery back up.i did non of dat i found it pips

On the 1996 Taurus it is located in the CCRM which is not serviceable you will need a new one from the auto parts store or from a junk yard. They average 150 at auto zone. The ccrm is right next to the battery its a little box that plugs in.

Check with auto parts or Sears for cross-reference Any Tire and battery center. Just make sure you quote which engine you have and what sort of driving (short/long trip) you do.
The charging system is reporting a problem. This could be a bad battery, poor/dirty connections at the terminals of the battery, a faulty alternator or a short in the wiring between these. Since the vehicle is post 1996, you can bring it to many auto parts stores and they will scan it for free(Advance Auto, AutoZone), to see if there are any codes stored.
You can test your battery with a battery tester. If you don't have a battery tester, you could take the battery to Advance Auto Parts and they will test it for you for free.
