It is called Reincarnation. It is best describes the concept where the spirit of a human/animal, is believed to return to live in a new human/animal body.
It's like if you were to die, some people believe that you will be born as another person. So you never really leave this world because you keep being born every time you die, but as someone else. And they say you don't remember anything of the life you had before.
