i pad 3
the ipad 1 is thick and clunky when compared to ipad 4 the ipad four as a better camera while ipad 1 did not have a camera ,Also, both iPads have an accelerometer, ambient light sensor and magnetometer, but the 4 also has a gyroscope.
Yes, though the iPad 3 is one mm thicker than the iPad 2
If it is a tightly fitting case? Then no. More than likely any case will not fit the iPad 1. The iPad 4 is thinner than it.

Generally the iPad 1 can't share the same case with iPad 2 except some specific case design for both ipad, such as the leather Bluetooth keyboard for ipad 1 ipad 2. A slip-style case that is strechy or a generic notebook case will fit both models. Since the iPad 1 is thicker, cases that hold the tablet with leather, metal or other rigid forms will not work. The iPad 1 will not work with the smart cover, or other compatible cases either, as it lacks the magnetic switches and edges.
1: Ipad is larger 2: Ipad is more like a mini computer than an MP3 player 3: Ipad costs more.
The DODO iPad case was first created before the launch of iPad 1 in March 2010.
I bought a Pelican i1075 for my iPad. This is a pretty sweet case because it protects your iPad, Apple keyboard, charger, and earbuds. Even cooler is when the case is open, there's a place to prop the iPad up and a place for the keyboard that makes it function like a laptop. Oh yeah, this case is compadible with the iPad 1 and 2, but I'm not sure about the 3 yet.
yes. there is the iPad mini which is 7 inches. and the regular iPad which is 9.7 inches
yes i think they are the same shape
Whether you're using the iPad 1 or iPad 2, you really need a solid case to keep it protected. Sure, the Apple Store may have some basic cases for your needs, but they're generally really expensive there considering you're buying from the official store. Turn to internet retailers for the best deals on iPad cases and other iPad accessories. What would normally cost $30 or so can cost as little as $3 to $5 from these reputable websites.
