The "Best" is really up to the user. What is best for me, may not be to your liking. I suggest you read reviews by owners and make a selection that way. See the link below, it not only provides choices but owner reviews on each rifle / pistol. Just open the link and then open each rifle you like and read (at the bottom) the Owners reviews. The web link has almost ever air rifle available on the market today.
Not usually. There are several factors involved besides the spring, but the .22 will usually use a stronger spring to propel the heavier pellet.

The "Grand Prix" would be one of my choices.. It comes in .177 or .22, it is a PCP class rifle.
No
No. the Remington is a spring system air rifle. It requires that it only be cocked and then fired to work. No C02 is required.
It all depends on who made the air rifle and the power plant that the rifle uses.

please state the model number and the condition of the rifle. Is this a 22 rim-fire or air rifle?
.22 Cal. rifles have very little, if any, recoil and are not much louder than an adults CO2 powered air rifle. If the 10 year old has never shot a rifle or any other firearm before a .22 cal. is the best place to start.
