hate to say it.. but that's pure opinion

i would have to say the best Pokemon are cute little Pokemon like my all time favorite skitty.. but that's not the best Pokemon in other peoples thoughts..

if you mean in terms of strong.. a lot of good legendaries and a very strong starter Pokemon if great for tough team.. legendaries have more health than regular Pokemon and usually come with some pretty wicked moves which is why i would choose a couple good legendaries like giritina and heatran .

if you have a party of level one hundred Pokemon, take a few legendaries in there you could be unbeatable!

some Pokemon come with special abilities

my level 100 skitty has the automatic power to change its foes moves into all normal type.. so you would wanna pick a Pokemon that can do something cool like that

its all in how you play the game.

buy irons and proteins and things for you Pokemon to up its stats

STATS ARE VERY IMPORTANT

teach a variety of moves. not just fire type or water type.. if you were a fire Pokemon versing a water Pokemon and all u had was fire type moves u would be in some trouble
