What is the best armor in fallout new Vegas?

the best armor is the Winterized power armor you get it after you beat operation Anchorage (this is an expansion pack so you have to download it from live or buy it on a expansion pack disk. (it has 45 DMR and 40 WG and never wears down it also has no negative effects) the second best is the Enclave Hellfire armor (it has 50 DMR and 40 WG and makes you almost flame proof but wears down normally also has no negative effects) the third best is Lindens outcast power armor (it has the same as a normal outcast power armor but has +10 Big Guns but has -1 agility) all of these having range from 10 to 20 Rad Resistance

I think a good armor is the tribal power armor available by colecting all 100 steel ingots on the fallout 3 expantion pack; the pitt. it has roughly the same WG as the others and quite good DMR and lots of good effects and little if any bad ones. You do have to repair it like other armor but it is well worth getting.

In the normal Fallout 3 without any DLC or add-ons its the T-51 Power Prmor found in Fort Constantine, despite the fact that due to it's rusted condition it can't be repaired except by NPC characters. This armor can be obtained by starting a mission called "You gotta shoot em' in the head" which is gained from a Ghoul named Mr. Crowly in the Underworld.

With the Operation Anchorage DLC it's the Winterized T-51 Power Armor you get once you finish the DLC. Bethesda Studio's accidentally gave this armor over one million health, thus making it virtually indestructible. They never fixed the armor's stats, even with patches.

- Chinese Stelth Suit (when in stelth mode it has an effect like a stelthboy

- Tribal Power Armour (Increses AP by 15 points)

- Leodux's Hockey Mask (Increses AP by 25 points)

The Remnants power armor has +1 str, 15 rad resistance and a damage threshold of 28 the best armor in the game. Get it in a quest with Arcade Gannon a companion, once you take him to the crashed verbird and repconn site near novac to start the quest. Note: must not be with legion, so Arcade Gannon will join you and he has to comment on each site for it to work and you have to be inside the repconn building for him to comment!!! Also a Brother hood of steel helmet could not hurt.

To get Arcade's Companion quest you also have to talk to Doctor Hildern, you can find him in Fort MCarran.

The best Medium armor in the game is prob the Desert Ranger Combat Armor but you must have the Honest Hearts DLC to get it.

you can find this armor at the end of Stone Bones Cave besides a Footlocker and a terminal. The Cave is located Behind/above the Sorrow tribes camp.

if you do not have the DLC i think the NCR Ranger Combat Armor might be the best medium armor but I'm not entirely sure. But if you like heavy armor better the Remnants Power armor is definitely the best one
