Most likely if it is an automatic it is a 700 r4 in the 92 camaro. It will fit but the 700 r4 doesnt have the torque ratings of a 4L60 or 4L60e that came in the 94. Depending on the torque output on the z28, you might end up blowing up the 700 r4. So your best bet is to get a 4L60 or have the 700 r4 rebuilt and "bulletproofed".
