A Clydesdale. Clydesdale's are actually good kid horses. They are very docile and friendly. but yes, don't get a shetland. even adults struggle with them. Caspian ponies are good for children, as are banker ponies. But I wouldn't advise getting a pony. They tend to be temperamental and your children will grow out of them. I would suggest a Cob. They are a good natured type of horse. They are very docile and willing. They are very reliable and sure footed. They are so reliable they sometimes give rides to deformed people or elderly people! DO NOT GET AN ARABIAN! Arabians are great horses for adults, but they may be too spirited for children.
I think maybe a welsh mountain pony is the best choice. They are good riding ponies and have a kind nature and are usually really good around children, pets and other horses.
DONT GET A SHETLAND PONY! They may look really cute but they are really aggressive. Always check with the person you are buying from about the horses background and attitude and make sure that you can take it back if it is not the right horse for you.
A miniature pony is a good start.
Answer 2:
Miniature ponies although often ridden are not designed for riding, only for pet and harness use and therefore are not good for children to learn to ride on. Shetland ponies (not the same thing as miniature horses/ ponies) and smaller equines are great first horses for smaller kids. However the pony should be big enough for an adult to ride to provide 'tune up rides' when needed.
My first horse was an arabian named All about me and she was the best. get an arabian. There is no one 'best' breed for a first horse. In reality you shouldn't even be concerned about the breed in the beginning. You should be more concerned with if the horse is overall suitable for you and your goals, things like breed should be considered last.
It REALLY depends on what you plan to use the horse for.
a miniature horse is a great carting breed and there ya go folks
an appendix, quarter horse or a appaloosa and a palomino
the breed doesn't really matter...the height of the horse matters.
Endurance riding
No a Piston is not a breed of horse.
The breed of horse is a Thoroughbred, it is the horse that the cars are named after.
a yealand pony or horse is a breed of horse
Any breed or cross breed of horse will work fine so long as it is sound and well trained. Don't buy a specific breed of horse just because some says it's the best.
The largest breed of horse tends to be the percheron but other large horse breeds are drum horse, shire, clydesdale, Friesian, or really any draft breed.
every breed is good with children it depends on your training that how do you train your dog but i would suggest a small breed like pug
