What is the best console to buy?

It all depends what you want from your console. If you want the absolute best media center device that has an added game feature as such, get the PS3. If you want a device dedicated to HD gaming, but you will always carry the risk of RROD and many other errors, then the Xbox 360 is a good choice. If you're looking for pure gaming fun with innovative features and a really fun experience, the Wii is your best bet. Personally, this is my ranking order: Wii, Xbox 360, PS3.

Depends. If you want to play games where u want to play games like Call of Duty or racing games probably Playstation 3 but if you want to play more games were u can move around a Wii a playstation is easier to control so if your playing games that are hard to control id go with a playstation also you might like to look at an Xbox but it cost money to play online if you want to play with friends but with a Playstation i think its free

In 2010 the PlayStation 3 was voted best because of the speed of it working, the features it has and its free internet unlike the XBox 360! and many many more. No affence to the XBox lovers but the xbox is not as good as PS3 i mean i like the xbox, if i got the chance to have one il take it. I have play on both XBox and PlayStation 3 for hours and i have to say, PS3 rucks the world upside down compered to the xbox.

This has been a great debate for a long time. While you will never get a definite answer to this question, you can be provided with information to help you decide your own opinion. Now, the two main consoles that battle on in 2011 are the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony Playstation 3. Both consoles are fantastic but of course there will always be conflicted opinions over which is better.

Not quite true because the are only two models that can be considered the best. The 320 GB PS3 with the Move Bundle for $349.99 and the Xbox 360 250 GB Kinect bundle for $399.99 is currently the Best Xbox 360 made. The Xbox 360 Gears of War 3 limited edition for $399.99 available September 20 2011 would cost an additional $150 to add the Kinect but does come with a detachable 320 GB harddrive and an extra controller. The Xbox 320 GB bundle for Star Wars at $449.99 with Kinect will be released on December 31 2011

While the XBox 360 is more multiplayer-oriented than the PS3, it does cost money to have an online account (an XBox Live account) which is what you will use if you wish to verse other people over the internet. PS3 has online multiplayer as well however you do not have to pay for an online account (although the cost of internet usage still applies to both).

Both consoles are better if they have an online connection and if you already have the internet in your home there is no additional cost for the PS3 and adding Playstation Plus will cost the same as Xbox live and offer free games and reduced prices on others. You can not say you have the best console if you do not have an online connection period. Of course the 3D HDTV with Home theater will make a better system for both game consoles

Another thing to look at is the kinds of games you will want to play. While XBox 360 has some exclusive games that are not made in the PS3 format (such as the "Halo" series of the "Fable" games), the PS3 also has games that are not for the XBox 360 (such as the "InFamous" games and the "Motorstorm" games). While most titles, such as "Call of Duty" and the Valve games ("Portal" series, "Left 4 Dead" series, "Half-Life" series, "Team Fortress 2", so on) are available on both consoles, many others are exclusive titles, so this is another thing to factor into when purchasing a console.

But a small thing because there are many games and most are not exclusive. However online play is always exclusive and if you want to play with friends you have to purchase either both consoles or the console they have.

Both consoles have very good graphics, however there is a nasty little thing called the "Red Ring of Death" that occurs in the XBox 360. Around the XBox 360 power button is a circle which is normally off but lights up green when the console is turned on. There is a serious virus which can happen in XBox 360 where that ring will turn red and the XBox will simply cease to function. If the XBox contracts the RROD, it cannot be restored, so you better hope your warranty is still valid.

Once you decide that the console will go into the living or family room the PS3 is clearly the best choice because it has abilities that are more than just a game console, Playing DVD and Blue Ray Movies, downloading netflix rentals, Storing and showing photos and videos, Music.

PS3 currently has the lowest prices due to the recent $50 reduction. Pricing for the 320 GB PS3 + Move Bundle at $350, PS3 320 GB inFamous Bundle at $300 and the 160 GB model at $249.99 as of August 26 2011.
