if you are wanting to hunt coyotes at a far distance and still have knock down power i would go with a 55 grain .22-250 or a 55 grain .223 or a 75 grain .243. Those are the bolt actions tho. if you wana go with a semi auto i would recommend a bushmaster AR-15 in a .223 round 55 grain or a bushmaster AR-25 in a .308 130 grain .243 75 grain or 7mm-08. But a AR-15 will run about 1000 dollars and a AR-25 will run bout 1500 dollars. i would go with a AR-15 with a 4x12x60 scope. If you want the best of the rimfire caliber for coyote and varmint, there is the new from this year, the .17 Winchester Super Magnum (WSM) 20 gr bullet at over 3000 ft/s Centerfire like performance at a rimfire price.
any high power rifle will do the job some have there favorites to use but any rifle will work, you could use a shotgun or bow also but most people use rifles
it depends on what your hunting
hunting is the answer
Hunting rifle scopes come in a wide variety and are easy to find online. Some websites like The Scope Smith and Optics Best Buy offer hunting rifle scopes.
Any of the major makers will have something in that price range.

Coyote
Generally .22 hunting class air rifles good for hunting squirrels. Those that deliver more the 15 ft lbs can be used for hunting rabbits but you should go for head shots. Some air large bore air guns can deliver considerable force good for coyote or even Wild Bore (the Quackenbush Outlaw). The upcoming Crosman Rouge looks like it will be a good varment hunting rifle out to over 100 yard for coyote or smaller creatures. Note Lewis and Clark had an air gun they used to keep meat on their table.
Coyote Rifle...Best choice? If you ask a dozen different hunters you may get a dozen different answers. I use a .22 magnum, scoped, and have dropped coyotes out to about 75-80 yards. My hunting buddy uses a .22 long rifle with a nice Nikon scope (the scope cost 4x as much as the rifle). Another shooting friend just acquired a .204 Ruger. Become proficient with your firearm and learn to be patient while hunting coyotes. Have fun and be safe! More than likely, the 22-250 is the most popular; although if you are selling the fur, then .22 magnum is excellent. If you just want to kill them and not have a chance of them getting away only wounded; then the 22-250 is great, and even better than that is the 243 and 25-06(using 75 and 85 grain bullets).
That will depend on the individual. Some will prefer a shotgun and others a rifle.
