for a thyroid pt. low iodine diet is recomended. add fruits in to your diet , roughage including whole grain cereals. decaffeinated drinks and be regular on exercise
Get out and walk and lift weights (both are important) and stop eating sugar.

When I stopped eating chocolate, I lost 12 pounds. Now that I have stopped eating more than half the sugar in my daily food, I have lost another 2 pounds, and my weight is still slowly dropping. I do get aerobic exercise several times a week, and lift weights twice a day, including tip-toes one leg at a time, squats, and two arm and upper body weight lifts. (Strong toned-up muscle burns fat much quicker than flabby muscles.)

The best diet for losing weight in my opinion would have to be weight watchers. Each meal is calorie controlled and just enough to fill you up. Weight watchers has been going for years so must be good to have been around for as long as it has.
