This is a difficult question to answer unequivocally.

As you audience will be viewing the page with a number of different hardware from high resolution large screens having a width exceeding 1900 pixels to mobile phones with screens having maybe 300 pixels.

If you can exclude some of these potential viewers form your primary target audience you will find it easier to determine the resolution you really want to offer.

There is always the possibility of displaying low resolution images or even "thumbnails" and offering users the opportunity to click a link to get higher resolution images.

I often have my browser about 900 pixels wide on my 1600 pixel monitor. so for me an image 800 pixels wide is fine.

What is the diffence between result of change both the size of a bit mapped image and its resolution?

When you change physical size of image in Width and Height fields its not necessary to change resolution. If you publish image to web you are inerested in Width and Height of image not in resolution, if you gonna print image then you must look in Resolution, most printers need 300 pixels per inch to print. Changing Resolution field will automaticaly change Width and Height of image in Photoshop (turn on Resample Image) and you will get best possible result with pixels you have.

How do you change low resolution pictures into high resolution?

The best way to decrease the resolution of digital artwork is to open it with Adobe Photoshop. Then go to the top of the screen and click Image > Image Size > and change the number in the box labeled "resolution." Be sure that "Resample Image" is checked so that it will discard the extra resolution, rather than reallocating it. Then Save As, and you're done.

What is the best width in pixels for website design?

That's different. The best ist arround 100%, than it's unimportant how width the user's screen is. I use around 800px but for users with old screens (and bad eyes) and a screen resolution of 800X600 is that too broad. In the future, where the resolution will be bigger, 800px is to small. Today resolution are possible between 800x600 and 1280x1024 for a 19"-Screen. On my 24" a have a resolution of 1920X1200, the 800px-image is there just a half of the screen...

What apeture gives you the best resolution when focus-stacking an image?

It is difficult to determine which aperture gives you the best resolution when focus-stacking without knowing which lens you are using. You will have to experiment to find the one best for your lens. The smallest aperture that works with your lens is the best one to use.

How do you increase the format size of JPEG pictures to a higher resolution so that you print them?

You can artificially increase the resolution of a jpeg image in Adobe Photoshop, but there will be a loss in quality because data is "invented" through a process called interpolation. A low resolution image only contains X amount of data, and to increase its resolution, you are telling the computer software to add nonexistent data to the picture file. This is generally ok if you're only increasing the resolution by 10% for general print purposes, but to make a dramatic increase in resolution such as 72 dpi to 300 dpi, the image will most likely artifact (pixelate). The best and obvious solution would be to acquire the original image.

What is the best image compressor for making image files smaller?

Depends for what the image is going to be used. If it's for a high resolution printing such as print ad in a magazine or poster TIFF format with LZW is preferred for quality purpose. JPEG format gives more options for compressing an image, especially for web usages or not for high quality printing purpose. Also it depends on the original image quality and resolution, if the quality of the original image is good, then JPEG will be a good option to use.

Do CT scans provide a much higher resolution of anatomical detail than do MRI scans?

As we know,Clarity of the image is decided by its Spatial Resolution but not by Pixel Resolution. CT have high Spatial Resolution but MRI have comparable Spatial Resolution to CT&far better Contrast Resolution than CT-So,MRI is the BEST to demonstrate Anatomy, especially in parts containing more soft tissue[Eg:Brain]&CT is the BEST to demonstrate Bony Anatomy.

What aperture gives you the best resolution when focus stacking an image?

It depends on the lens on your camera; the smallest aperture that won't cause diffraction is the best one to use. So...you're going to have to experiment.
