The average temperature in Hawaii only changes by about 10 degrees F. between winter and summer (daily highs from the low 80's up to low 90's). Given that, Jan - March are probably the best months for temperate days and cool nights.
You are more likely to get rain in the winter months, but that can depend on the island and where you are, since it usually rains somewhere on most of the islands daily (rain forests), yet some parts of islands are classified as deserts.
The real answer is pick your island (Maui) and the area (South), and go whenever the weather is not good in your area.
"Moving to Hawaii is a big decision. There isn't a specific month that is any better than any other month to make the move, however you do want to visit before you commit to moving. This way you cand determine if you really want to move, and which island is best for you."
