yes just need motor best if used srt-4 tranny also, srt ecu and srt-4 guages and engine wring harness.
You can, But you wouldn't get much out of it. Swap for an SRT-4 motor.
yes you need to buy special motor mount which are easily found online.
right around 5
you will need to 2.4 tranny and they sell a motor mount kit that will make the engine fit to the original motor mount holes u dont need a tranny froma 2.4 the neon tranny bolts right up to it manual or auto works fine. go to modernperformance.com and buy the passenger motor mount adapter and u will have to cut the bottom motor mount to clear the oil pan. then the wiring u can use the neon dohc wiring and the computer. if u use the computer u need to change the 2 outer wires around on the coil pack and move injector plug #1 to#4 and move the others down one left to right. i have done this swap and its not hard to do if u can change a motor in a car. also the 2.4 srt-4 motor didnt come out till 2003 and if ur gonna us the srt-4 engine it is best to use the srt-4 tranny with it. I did a 2.4 swap froma stratus and put a srt-4 turbo on it and it works great. How much will this cost??
yes
well i know that the normal neon came in an srt-4 package with the body of the srt-4 with the plain neon's parts but just to be sure i would go to my local dodge dealer and ask. Yes it defenitly does!
its still a neon is your 1st problem
even if the auto trans bolted up to the srt-4 the motor would rip it to pieces..why keep it auto anyways? the motor doesn't bolt right up either..you have to get the srt-4 PCM and the wiring harnesses. you also have to custom fabricate the motor mounts..if you want to save some money just get the PT cruiser 2.4 turbo its the same exact motor but for some reason its cheaper...it cost me about 4 grand after it was all said and done...now my 96 neon puts out about 14psi at about 155mph top speed
The answer for the srt 4 normal Temp is at 200
A person can purchase a Neon SRT from several different places. Some of these places include Spoilers For Less, ProTuning Lab, and Sparktec Motorsports.
