driver left of the oil filter on a 2000 crv
I use Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-90 in my 2003 Honda Crv.
I know Honda says to use 5w20. I was wondering myself about using a heavier oil though, maybe 5w30, or switching to semi-synthetic 0w30....any experts care to comment?

10W-30 is recommended.
it's in the Honda CRV manual.it says 5w-30.
i know it fits a 2005 honda crv
Synthetic 5W30 preferred.
It could depend on what type of climate or seasonal-change area you live in. Overall a lubricating oil weight of 5W-30 is probably best all around.
The 2002 Honda Civic (all trim levels) can hold up to 4.4 quarts or oil. So, it's best to put at least 4 quarts with every oil change.
4.6 US quarts. Just shanged mine today:)
The 2000 Honda CR-V does not have a VTEC engine.
