The recommended viscosity is 5W-30, but dependiing on the prevailing climate where you live you could adjust use either less or more viscosity (colder -5W-20 or, warmer - 10W-30).

if its the 98 model to 05 model its under the coolant bottle pass side 3 screws hold in the coolant bottle
If it is a EHM engine it is in the oil filter/cooler assembly. Gotta love model year breaks.

Look in your owners manual. The 97 model used 5W30, but I am unsure of the 98 and later models.

Model 98 was made in 1974 Model 98 Daisy Eagle made between 1955 -1960 ( Your model) Model 98 Golden Eagle W/Scope 1957 Model 98 Golden hunter 1958 All of these have different values.
