Yes, dogs can eat baked sweet potatoes with skins, but it's best to remove the skins as they can be harder for dogs to digest. You can offer sweet potatoes plain, without butter or any added seasonings, as these can upset their stomachs. Always introduce new foods gradually and in moderation to ensure your dog tolerates them well.
It's smoother, less stringy. I think it is the best of both worlds. It is still quite sweet like the sweet potato, naturally sweeter in my opinion. I could eat a white sweet potato plain...but would need butter and sugar for the orange sweet potato.
Peanut butter and butter.
Butter is used in cakes to give the cake a richer taste. If butter is not used, the ingredients are often too dry or the recipe ends up tasting bland. Butter provides the saltier aspect to the sweet dish, so that you end up with the best of both worlds.

The best butter with seafood would be a lemon garlic compound butter. However, anything is better with butter, and plain butter will work just fine.

Butter is always reccomended for baking, due to it's low water content (compared to margarine) and better taste. The high fat levels in butter help prevent baked goods from staling. Please see related link. Usually the best butter to use is "French butter", due to it's extra low water content.
It is always best to grease a pan with butter.
