You must be talking about C band dishes. Lots free channels come across the channels and satellites. The are you live in determines the size of the dish. In Idaho we could use a 7 foot dish, in the Midwest they could use a 4 foot dish. On a smaller dish we got a snowy pic on weak channels but strong ones came in OK.
The average size of a satellite dish is from 1.5 to 2 yards. Residential satellite dishes are usually smaller, while satellite dishes for commercial use tend to be larger.
i don,t know the size but its about 9072 kg

It depends on if you are getting HD service with Dish Network. If so, the Dish dimensions are 20.5"h x 22.5"w. Most satellite TV dishes are about the same size, they vary slightly to pick up the correct signals in orbit depending on what Dish programming you have.
It can be done, but why? In fact, it's possible to connect several dishes together, but you need support electronics and signal phasing systems. How 'bout this instead? Use a larger dish, or a dish enlargement extension kit? Trust me, it'll be a LOT cheaper and less troublesome if you do. The more signal you can capture (by the size of the dish) and focus into the LNB, the better the signal. In reality, the real size of a Ku band dish is 5 meters, and you'e most likely got an 18" dish. In this case, bigger is better.
To set up a satellite television system, you will need the following equipment: * A Satellite Dish: This is a parabolic reflector which can be made of solid aluminum, perforated aluminum or wire mesh. It is by far the most visible part of a satellite system. The dish can be small, such as a KU-band dish which is 3-4 feet, average that is 7-12 feet, or the big commercial C-band dish which is 16-20 feet. The 10 feet size dish is the most commonly used one. The dish helps to relay the microwave signals coming from the satellites. * A Mount: A mount is set on a 3-inch pipe which is in turn set in the ground with concrete. The most popular type of dish mount is the Polar Mount, which is so called as it is developed to coincide with the earth
No - It can't be a Digital TV antenna - it's the wrong size, wrong shape. Most digital tv is UHF - it needs a little loop like from a coat hanger. Some digital tv is VHF - but you still can't use an old satellite dish. Not gonna happen.

One the size of a grain of sand.
A satellite is roughly 77km long. However some can be smaller. It depends on their job.
^ length of a satellite 'launching vehicle' is roughly 300mts. Then how can a satellite be 77kms long?! Round figures : 5 x 5 mts
The highest satellite of the Earth is the "Moon", which averages nearly a quartermillion miles out. (238,000 miles)The highest artificial satellites in roughly symmetrical orbits are probably thegeostationary ones, like the ones you aim your little TV dish at. Those are inorbits that are 22,236 miles above the equator. That's the magic size for anorbit where the period of revolution is equal to the Earth's rotation period,so if you put that orbit over the equator, then the satellite looks like it nevermoves from its place in the sky, and you don;t have to move your dish to track it.
