Honestly, the direct upload from iMovie is not the best thing to do. It is better to export the video file and upload it directly.

I think FLV worlks the best. YouTube videos gets converted to FLV when you upload them. When you download the videos, they always come in FLV files.

Other than that, you should be able to upload a maximum of at least 3 videos a day. (If you keep uploading 24/7 you might be able to upload 15 videos or more) When no-one is uploading basically your uploads may only take the time of the duration of your video.
