I suffered from mild insomnia a couple years ago and I went about it the wrong way. I took Tylenol PM. Be careful taking these because they will create a dependency and flood your system with too much acetaminophen. If you did want to take a sleeping aid, go with something like Simply Sleep which has no medicinal purpose.

Also, exercise before bed. This will definitely make you at least a little more tired. It doesn't even have to be right before bed, just add it to your daily routine.

Sleep is a natural state that will come of its own accord if you will simply get yourself out of the way. To do this usually takes wome work, including practice and discipline. It can be any practice and discipline, from running or other aerobic practice if you are of a Western bent, or a martial, breathing, meditating, or chanting, etc., if you are of an Eastern mind.

Again, the answer is that it is a matter of will. You choose.

If you cannot chose right now, then find a discipline and work it, and you will find the peace that is necessary to allow sleep to become the natural state of consciousness that your body knows how to do.
