I assume green breaking a horse here.
I start by lunging the horse daily and getting that portion of the work out of the way.
Round pens work great for this.
Then I add a blanket and a strap pad. Same thing.. lots if lunging
Next I add a saddle and more pen work.
Finally I start adding my weight slowly. After a few days, I try to sit in the saddle.
The time goes by so fast. Don't start too early though. Three is plenty early!
