First of all, use warm water to wash your sock! Warm water is gentle on clothes but at the same time tough on stains and germs sticking to it. Soak it in warm water with some bleaching powder for about half an hour. Later, brush the dirty areas & hand-rinse it thoroughly. Use a mild detergent to wash it as usual with other clothes. Result wouldn't be sparkling white as you see on televisions. But it is pretty much satisfactory. And of course, the best way I know.
Try scraping off the dirt,then soaking it in in plain water,I would reccomend using ice water.Then wash it with bleach,either hand wash or machine wash.
