NTFS, or New technology file system is a proprietary file system created by Microsoft first for windows NT. It is not an open file system like ext3 for example and Microsoft will not release the standards for it making it hard for other OS's to mount NTFS file systems.
Note I said hard, not impossible. People have reverse engineered much of the NTFS system and it is possible to mount it with the correct tools in other OS's.
But the best way to describe it is a Microsoft proprietary file system.
ntfs is probably the best
No, there is not.
The best form of NTFS recovery is drive recovery or word recovery. This is a type of software specifically designed to recover information from a computer.
You would need to delete the partition and create a new one in its place; there is no standardized way of converting NTFS to FAT32. Several tools can be used to do this. cfdisk from the command line, or GParted graphically are probably the best options.
