This is definitely not an easy thing to do. In order to receive representation from an agent at a top tier agency (UTA, CAA, William Morris, etc.) you will need to have a decent amount of work and experience on your resume. In reality, it's nearly impossible to enter the industry with one of these agencies because they tend to deal with very well-established clientele.
However, there are many other agencies that are much smaller and specialize in budding talent. My main suggestion would be to get some screen time; whether it be a feature-film, student-film, TV show, commercial, music video...whatever. Once you have a decent array of footage, edit a 'reel' of your best performances and start shopping it around.

Some great information above.
Signing with an agent is not easy these days. They receive so many submissions every day and have limited rosters. However you should be submitting to all of the agencies at least once a month. Are you a member of SAG or AFTRA?
One good way to at least be seen by agents is to study acting with a good acting teacher. Often the acting teacher will have agents come in to watch the students perform scenes. Cliff Osmond is in my opinion one of the very best and he does have good agents and casting directors come to his scene study classes at the end of each cycle to view the polished two-person performances. Also, doing live theatre is great for several reasons. Developing your craft, adding theatre credits to your resume (which casting directors love), and inviting agents to see you perform. Just make sure to send free tickets. You would be surprised to know how many actors send invitations via postcard, but no tickets.
Casting directors will hire you even if you don't have an agent, but it is less likely that you be called in the first place. Agents get the breakdowns and are able to submit you to a lot more projects than you can yourself. I have all of the casting information that goes out, so maybe I can help you submit for specific projects for your type. One issue is that casting directors usually do not like to negotiate contracts directly with talent. But they will hire you for scale without having to negotiate your fee.
The payment of a talent agent can vary. It is important to note that you will not get paid if your clients do not get paid. You can expect to make about 10% of what your client makes.
A large degree of vanity.
The best way to narrow down your search for such a talent agency is by searching locally within your city/state. Keep in mind that the best agencies are in the larger markets such as New York and Los Angeles. You'll have to go through websites of these agencies in order to see if they specialize in minority talent.
I would suggest you begin by learning the business from an all ready working agent and then start your own agency.
Talent agents usually work for a commission of the money that you make. They work for you as long as you make them money or they don't want to represent you anymore.

No, archery is not a talent, but it does require talent to do archery. The best way to acquire the needed talent is, of course, to practice regularly.
The best way to find auditions, particularly for film/television roles is by getting an agent. To get an agent you can google talent agencies in your area and then check their proceedure for seeking representation. Most agencies will ask you to submit a headshot and resume and they will contact you if they feel that they are able to represent you.
