I like to dig a small pocket on the bank of a creek. about 2 in up from the water level. After that i put muskrat meat in the hole. You dont need to have a big hole about a inch across. After that set up a #1 coil spring in front of the hole, but make sure it is under the water about 3/4 of a inch. Then stake it , but make sure if a coon gets in it, it wont pull it out. O another thing make sure the dog is towards the hole. Hope this helps and wish u success
