I grew up watching my mom use witch hazel. I found the smell offensive, but noticed her skin was lovely and amazing, even as she advanced with age.
Following her lead, I went to a local pharmacy and found Thayer's witch hazel, which was a bit more pricey than what my mom used, but has a pleasant odor and is alcohol free.
After only a few uses, my skin is as soft or softer than the previous Skin Care I used...and quite a bit cheaper!
I purchased Thayer's alcohol free Rose Petal Witch hazel with aloe vera and love it. If you cannot find it at your drugstore, you can buy it online.
