2 Kings 2:11
And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
Elijah was one of the most memorable prophets of the Old Testament, having stood in opposition to Israel's (the Northern Kingdom) King Ahab and his wife Jezebel. Among his accomplishments was the proclamation of a famine and a drought which lasted several years, the raising of a child from the dead, the defeat of the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, and parting the waters of the Jordan River.
Elijah is also one of two people in The Bible who did not die. The first being Enoch. Gen. 5:23 - 24 reads, "23So Enoch's life lasted 365 years. 24Enoch walked with God and then he was not there, because God took him."
The rapture of Elijah is recorded in 2 Kings 2. 2:11-12 reads, "11As they [Elijah and Elisha] continued walking and talking, a chariot of fire with horses of fire suddenly appeared and separated the two of them. Then Elijah went up into heaven in the whirlwind. 12As Elisha watched, he kept crying out, "My father, my father, the chariots and horsemen of Israel!" Then he never saw Elijah again. He took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces."

2 Kings 2:1, And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
No, there is no record of Elijah writing a letter after being taken to heaven. The biblical account in 2 Kings 2 mentions Elijah being taken up by a whirlwind into heaven, but there is no mention of him writing a letter after that event.
The bible says that both the prophet Elijah and Enoch did not die . But were taken up into heaven. Elijah in a cloud.

Elijah was not condemned. He was taken to heaven in a chariot.
Elijah and Enoch were the only two people mentioned in the Bible to go to heaven without dying. Enoch was the first of the two.
A living person being taken up into heaven. The first was Enoch who walked with God and was no more, the second was Elijah, taken up to heaven in a chariot of fire and the third was Jesus' ascension after his resurrection
1) Enoch (who was the son of Seth who was righteous in God's sight and the son of Adam and Eve) 2) Elijah 3) Jesus
The bible is silent on this point. There is no reason to suppose that he was taken up alive into heaven as Enoch and Elijah were. He is an Old Testament type (or Picture) of Jesus Christ, who was to come, but nothing offered in scripture to suggest a (rapturing) up to heaven alive, as Enoch and Elijah.
Elijah. According to the bible, he was taken up in a fiery chariot.
As prophet Elijah did not die but was taken up into heaven on a cloud, so he still existing and came with Moses on the hill.
"Home" is a metaphor for heaven in this African-American spiritual. In the Old Testament of the Judeo-Christian Bible, Elijah was taken home in a chariot.
