Best Answer

The scientific or taxonomic name would be Atelerix albiventris.

Answer

There are many species of hedgehog. Hedgehogs come from genera Atelerix and Erinaceus. They are not rodents. In older classification they come from the Order Insectivora of the Class Mammalia. In newer classification, they come from the Order Eulipotyphla with their relatives the shrews and talpid moles.

I'm pretty sure it's Erinaceidae. But, to be honest, I'm not really all that sure. I'm doing a paper on hedgehogs (yes, I know...kinda weird) and I just now found that in some website. So, I guess I'm a little "lost" too. Ha ha...well, I hope I sorta helped. :)
